“Tomorrow, Monday will be good, but Tuesday will be the biggest day, because of Hurricane Maria, the waves will be big enough for surfing,” said a photographer to another.

“Surfing? In New York? Where?” I asked.

“Rockaway!” they said.

So, next day I went to Rockaway. It was rather a gray day, not so cold, not so hot, not so sunny, and not so windy. It was a pleasant day!

Some surfers were trying hard to be able to stand on the board.

And some, just to stay on the board.

There weren’t any swimmers in the water, just surfers. But there were some spectators, enjoying the day.

3 surfers, I followed, gave me a warm smile when they left.

I noticed a surfer was getting ready to surf,

He passed the “Keep Jetty Diving” sign, and jumped into the ocean.

Shall we call this wave a tube? Not big, not deep but looks like a tube.

Some surfers were in control, more experienced and better than some.

I had a great time, I say, I enjoyed my day as much as surfers did, but in a different way.
