Watching the 2024 New York City Saint Patrick’s Day Parade

The 263rd New York City Saint Patrick’s Day Parade took place on Saturday,16 March, along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan 

The city was ready for the parade. Some restaurants, stores were decorated with flags.

The parade started at 44th Street and Fifth Ave. 

While NYC St. Patrick’s Parade 2024 Grand Marshal Margaret C. “Maggie” Timoney, in green jacket, was waiting for the start sign, Aides were checking their arm-length-distance..

The New York City parade is known as the world’s largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade, with of course politicians.

K-9 officers and their police dogs on duty were enjoying the event. One of the dogs was very playful with his partner while the other one was observing the crowd. © h. nazan ışık

And sometimes, the Archbishop of New York Timothy Dolan gets up to shake hands and talk with people. © h. nazan ışık

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade, with dozens of bands, performers, dancers, and pipes and drums as one of the most entertaining parades, brings a huge parade-goers, mostly dress in green or the colors of the Irish flag.

Not only the part of his outfit, but from top to toe- including beard- all in green spectator.

A family from Ireland: “ We have been here in America for a week. Yesterday we were in D.C., and had a great time. Weather was very nice.

And we are here in NY, celebrating the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Tomorrow we’ll go back to Ireland.” © h. nazan ışık

Pipes and drums always fill the air with their beautiful music and gets spectators’  attention.
