 One of the most colorful parade and festival in New York City definitely with all kind of very creative and colorful costumes an bonnets, is the annual Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival.

The Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival takes place on Easter Sunday on Fifth Avenue, between 49th Street and 57th Streets, and starts at 10:00 a.m.and runs until 4:00 p.m. Fifth Avenue is closed for traffic from 49th St to 57th St.

This year even though it is a very windy day, thousands gathered in front of St Patrick’s Cathedral on Sunday on Fifth Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets.

It is called a parade, but a different one. No barricattes. Anyone can join at any moment or stop whenever they wish. Take pictures… It’s more of an informal street festival.

Imagination has no limits, bonnets decorated with flowers, eggs, fruits, animals etc..make the day very enjoyable.
