Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks move to the East River

This year the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks moved to the East River. Barges spread between 24th and 41st Sts. Security was very tight not only at viewing spots and checkpoints but also on the streets too.

People came early to get a better spot at viewing areas. I was on FDR and about 50^th street. Since police officers open that street’s checkpoint late it was easier to move, to rest while waiting for the fireworks.
